Easter is for every day. Every-day Easter. That’s what I’m thinking about. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had so many Easter greetings as this year, from all over the world. Friday, Saturday, Sunday – every time I looked at my phone I had dozens of new messages. Then Monday? Silent. Tuesday? Silent.

In our community, we keep coming back to Romans 8:11. I remember arriving at an aha! moment in my own spiritual journey as a teenager when I discovered this verse. « But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you ».

Wait. What? The Spirit of the Living God, who raised Jesus from the dead, dwells within me? As in ‘has moved in and taken up residence’? Wow. And if I can somehow wrap my mind around that, I then have to consider this: what could resurrection life look like in my day-to-day? Every-day Easter is mine for the living. Come, Holy Spirit! I feel like waiting a couple weeks and then randomly wishing people ‘Happy Easter!’ on 14 May. Or 9 June. Or 24 August.

Every-day Easter.

Breathe it in!

Live it out.
