Under the wing of The World Community for Christian Meditation (www.wccm.org) a group convenes on Monday evenings up to meditate in the Christian tradition as rediscovered and revived by John Main OSB (1926-1982).

The essence of Christian meditation is stillness, silence and simplicity. Meditation is about Being with God (attentional prayer) rather than talking to God (intentional prayer, or the prayer of the mind) or reflecting about Him. ─ Simplicity means letting go of all self-analysis and self-reflection during the time of meditation. Interior silence means letting go of all thoughts, ideas and images. Stillness means letting go of desire. In Christian meditation we make the journey from the mind to the heart, we slowly return to our true selves and in doing so find both peace and joy in God.

You are welcome to join us on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. in the crypt of the Chapel. Please come about 5 minutes early if you can, because we need to lock the front door around 7 p.m. before we start. The meditation evenings will take about an hour, including 25 minutes of meditation proper and refreshments and fellowship afterwards if participants so wish.

Please contact Frits Smulders at frits.smulders@icloud.com if you have any practical questions or if you plan to come for the first time (evenings may occasionally be cancelled at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances).
