Two unique musicians, two exceptional instruments -an own path…
2017 Stephanie Lepp and Levan Andria met each other at the « Ziryab Akademie“ of World Music Stuttgart/Germany and started playing together regularly in Improvisation Sessions.
Step by step own pieces are developing during these musical meetings and an extraordinary duo is growing -the beginning of the journey « Duo Flying Tree“.Improvisation is playing a leading role in their music.
« Duo Flying Tree“ is performing exclusively own compositions and own arrangements, inspired by different musical cultures.
The combination of cello and flute, as well as bansuri is rare to find but fascinating -these instruments allow a wide range of expressive sound colours and complement one another in an excellent way.
The roots of „Duo Flying Tree“ are founded in the European Classical Music, which is naturally leaving its marks in their way of playing.
Dynamic variety, sound esthetics and sensitivity are important elements of their performance.
