1st Concert: Pauline VAN DER REST – Violin
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Chapel for Europe, we are pleased to invite you to the 4th edition of our FESTIVAL CHAPEL FOR EUROPE, organised jointly with Pro Musica Pulchra.
We will have five concerts, one on each Wednesday in October, with the first concert on Wednesday 29 September. You can find the full programme of the festival here.
Indulge yourself with inspiring classical music. Enjoy five performances by talented young artists and famous musicians in the heart of the EU. We shall have limited capacity in the Chapel. Please reserve your place at the bottom of this page.
First concert by Belgian violinist Pauline VAN DER REST.

Pauline VAN DER REST was born in Brussels in August 2004.
She started playing the violin at the age of 7 with Igor Tkatchouk, first privately, and since 2016 as a Young Talent at the IMEP in Namur. Since 2020, she also studies with Boris Garlitsky, professor at the Folkwang Universität in Essen, Germany.
She successfully participates every year in national and international competitions, and has already collected 17 first prizes. Among these competitions: Concorso Postacchini in Italy, Grumiaux International Competition in Brussels, Odessa International Competition in Ukraine, Spohr Competition in Germany.
She was elected « Young Talent of the Year 2018 » of the province of Namur.

Pauline is regularly invited to festivals, including Art Dialog in Switzerland, the Saint-Hubert July Music Festival, Musicorum in Brussels, the Auvers-sur-Oise Festival in France, but also in Portugal, Estonia, Ukraine, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Greece, Croatia, Sweden, and Russia: the Spivakov Foundation of Moscow selected her to represent the Russian school in Belgium.

Pauline has played with various orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liege and the Royal Band of the Guides, and has performed in renowned halls such as Bozar and Flagey in Brussels, the Philharmonic Hall of Liege, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, and the International Music House in Moscow.

She has attended masterclasses with Albert Markov, Aleksey Semenenko, Boris Garlitsky, Hrachya Avanesyan, Iossif Ivanov, Lorenzo Gatto and Leonidas Kavakos. The latter gave him the exceptional opportunity to receive a scholarship to attend courses with him in 2020 and 2021.

Due to sanitary measures in Brussels by the Belgian Government and Ecclesiastical authorities, we have a limited capacity at the Chapel.
