Photo Competition

“Praying.
Inspiring impressions of moments of Prayer”

Share with us what praying means to you.

I.T.OUCH’, activity programme of Centre Alameda ASBL and Chapel for Europe AISBL in the framework of World Interfaith Harmony Week with the support of Plateforme Interconvictionelle Bruxelles invites you to participate in this photo contest.
We would like to discover what praying means to you! Be creative! Be inspiring! Be artistic!
Winning photos should:
• Illustrate an inspiring moment of prayer (in all religions and beliefs, both in community and individually.
• Artistically appealing ;
• Should be accompanied by a description/caption of no more than 100 words explaining why this image is representative of what Praying means to you.
Interested in joining the competition?
Participation to the photo competition is free and open to any person who is 18 years old or above.
INSTRUCTIONS:

1.) Take a photograph that can illustrate different ways of Praying, and comment on your approach.
If you take a picture with a camera, make sure that the photograph is High Resolution [1600 x 1200 pixels minimum]
If you take a photo with a smartphone, make sure that the photo is Full Size [4MP minimum].

2.) Fill in the online submission form with your name, last name, age, email, address, country.

3.) Write a description/caption on the submission form of no more than 100 words (800 characters including spaces) describing what the image is, where it was taken, and how it illustrates an inspiring moment of prayer for you.

4.) Submit the image in .jpeg/jpg format, indicating the name of the photographer on the picture’s metadata. Example: surname_name.jpeg
Name of photographer, agency or publication must not be visible on the picture itself.
5.) Read the terms and conditions and check the box on the online submission form to agree before uploading your photo. Once done, upload your image in .jpeg/.jpg format via the form.

A notification will be sent once the entry is registered.

DEADLINES:
The competition will open at 10:00am (GMT +1) on December 1, 2017. And will close at 5:00 pm (GMT +1) on January 15, 2018

JURY
A panel of 6 judges will select the winning photographs. This jury is composed of members of different religions, artists, photographers, representatives of EU Institutions……

• Mme. Marie-Hélène Rabier, Sociologist and Journalist
• Mme. Nastasja Saerens, photographer and videographer
• Mme. Patty Roig, USA/Cuban painter
• M.Fearghas O’Beara ,European Parliament adviser on dialogue with Churches and Religions
• M. Régis Close, -Secretary of Platerforme Interconviccinelle Bruxelles
• M. Angela María Ocampò, Communications and Campaign Assistant CIDSE

PRIZES:
– 1st PRIZE:
The first winner will receive a FNAC voucher worth € 100

– 2nd PRIZE
The second winner will receive a voucher worth 50€ for the photography shop: A. CAMPION sprl in Brussel (https://www.appareilsphotoscampionbruxelles.be/fr)

– 3rd PRIZE
The third winner will receive the photography book about Brussels SCULPTURE DE LUMIÈRE/BEELDEND LICHT/LIGHT SCULPTURE by Patrick Rimoux.

Each of the winners and the 9 runners-up will receive a printed 2018-19 Interfaith Calendar with their selected pictures, once it’s published ( mid June). by El Kalima (Centre Chrétien pour le relation avec l’Islam and member of the Platerforme Intercovictionelle Bruxelles).

The name of the winners will be published end January on (website) and Facebook & Twitter
