In the next months, there will be in Brussels many initiatives aiming to influence the MEP candidates, the political groups, the future European Commission etc…
Some faith based organisations and networks are already involved in one or the other initiative. It has been identified as added value to invest in coming together as different Christian organizations and networks in Brussels and offer a platform to engage in a dialogue with candidates as Christian constituency.
We would like to communicate the efforts that Christian organisations are doing to mobilise voters and inform them of the issues and challenges that should concern people of faith (with the frame of the messages coming out from the Encyclical Laudato Si’).

SPEAKERS:

Mr. Klaus Buchner, MEP Greens, Germany

Mr. Andreas Schwab, MEP EEP, Germany

We propose a dialogue between these MEP candidates and representative of Christian organisations, facilitated by a moderator.

A platform to engage in a dialogue with Christians on the main long term challenges Europe and the whole humanity are facing. Christians have different political colours but there are shared concerns on certain topics and Laudato Si’ is providing a frame bringing together the economic, social, environmental challenges that Europe should phase today.

Which role for all of us and for Europe in finding a balance between urgent actions and long term vision to phase the current main political, environmental, social and economic challenges?

Thanks to the wide consortium we will be able to cover different topics and raise different issues :

– Migration and Refugees (JRS)

– Africa (AFJN)

– Social Policy (Caritas Europa)

– Climate (CEC)

– Youth and demography (Young Christian Workers)

– Systemic Change (CIDSE)
